the world is chaos... people aren't connected, people don't communicate. people are afraid to share their ideas and thoughts and fears and hopes honestly. which is why we need leaders, because like Tommy Lee Jones said - and i might be paraphrasing - a person is smart, people are dumb panicky animals. but it's exactly because people as a whole are dumb, that they have such trouble choosing their leaders. so we have dumb leaders leading dumb animals.
i'm too cynical to even care really. i mean in a world where the same person who made such a great classic as Aliens, also made Titanic. it doesn't make sense. the world is insane.

it's true, we get the leaders we deserve. it's a vicious circle because then our education gets bad and our leader selection even worse.

Where can I possibly start? Your tortured angst over progress? Civilisation? Evolution? NASA as making positive contributions -- like we need Tang or electric toothbrushes? Are you or have you ever been aware of the militarisation of space? Was this post a joke? Save your pity and get off your ass and do something! thanks for the judgmental, patronising, incoherent and cynical comment.
As a matter of fact i *have* worked in a kitchen and i *have been* volunteering. i'm 29 years old and making c. £10k only because i'm determined to do what i love and spend most of my time doing voluntary work in the academic community. but why i am i saying this? i don't need to prove myself to anyone.
it would be good to have a discussion about the actual arguments and substance of my post; but i reckon that's not what you're after...
