"- Not sure about the opening (prayer) shots. Factually accurate but quite dangerous too, i.e. it can subtly affect people's perceptions of Islam and Muslims and can be used against the (big) majority of peace-loving law-abiding citizens."

Ah, "peace-loving law-abiding citizens" you suddenly sound so politically correct that it's wrong(!), just like a Met officer before making an arrest...

Why would a greek nanny praying to God before she gets on a plane not provoke such "subtle" effects on "people's perceptions" and a scene like that would? I think it's high time we stopped underestimating people's IQ indices (which are generaly low anyway, no objection to that) and started wondering about what's morally right or wrong in our society and *why*.

If you didn't understand what I just wrote, ask for an explanation tomorrow

Gravatar "just like a Met officer before making an arrest" LOL

The problem is that if you ONLY and consistently [i.e. for years, across tv channels, newspapers, films, books etc] show Greek nannies praying and then blowing up planes people will start linking the image of a Greek nanny to that of a blown-up plane.

Which might be the case for 1 or 2 or 10 of them but it's not true for the hundreds of nice old ladies working for the Red Cross and preparing the πρόσφορο every Saturday.

Gravatar I think you didn't really get my comment (in its full depth) and you also didn't ask for an explanation, so.. I'm afraid you didn't get the substance of it. Better luck next time (or a better/longer comment on my part.. hmmm fairly unlikely, since this is gonna be my last one )
