This is so tragic. I received a msg this morning from his beloved wife. I pray for their peace and comfort through this time. I pray that the Lord will be a father to his children and guide them through life.
"There is no greater earthly cause for a man to lose his life, than freedom." Scott is a hero, and we stand honored after him.

Our band of brothers served together in downtown Baghdad for six months. Scott was always a professional, always ready and always
ready to give 100% to mission requirements.
I remember the day we all took the famous picture in the command center with the banner for his school back home. When we were on the same shift, we prayed together each morning before going down range. His respect for the Lord was solid.
In February, out of uniform, I was also in Uganda on a missionary trip. Scott and I discussed his work in Uganda. I never new that he had also done work with the orphanages. He was a humble man. It doesnt suprise me, he is that kind of guy. When I return to Uganda next year, I will find his orpanage (and bridges).
Scott was a VERY special soldier / human being.
He is a hero and was clearly one of this nation's finest. I will be at the funeral. My heartfelt prayers go out to his wife, sons, friends and all who loved him.

Scott was my son's best friend all through high school and years to follow. I have known Scott and his family for as many years. His parents are great, Godly people. His wife is so wonderful and giving. I know Scott leaves a great legacy.
I am awed by the fact while so many are caught up in personal problems and selfish desires here in the United States, Scott was out giving his life for God, and died the martyrs death.
Scott, you are worthy!!!!
Thanks for sharing your life for all of us and most of all for God.

Thank you Ron for a wonder spot on Scott. I am Daphne's father and I don't think that I could give him more praise than those that have served with him. I know that he was a wonderful father and a dedicate soldier. Three tours, volunteered all three times, speaks volumes of the man. Again, thank you Ron.

Words cannot describe the loss that the world suffered by losing such a remarkable and dedicated man. I worked with Scott in Uganda for 7 months and he was never anything less than extraordinary! Scott was someone I looked up to and respected on so many levels. He will be sorely missed by so many.
I am currently in Iraq and I know that Scott is looking down on me and keeping me safe. I will miss his friendship but cherish all the wonderful memories of working with him.
During Scott's lifetime he made an impact on so many people and I was lucky enough to be one of those people.
God Bless!

Thank you Ron, for that wonderful tribute to MAJ Scott Hagerty. I had the honor and privilage to have served with Scott in Baghdad at the Ministry of Interior in Oct 2004 thru Feb 2005 along with COL Alan Niedermeyer, MAJ Juan Howie, MAJ Tim Pulley, Sam Perlin (KIA, 16 Jan 2006), Ed Pawlina (and several other Dyancorp contractors along with the 2nd Batallion/162 IN Ore. National Guard (including our driver before we received our own armored vehicles - SSgt David Rostrum - KIA, 20 Nov 2004). We were his first "Band of Brothers" in Combat. He was a soldier, warrior, father, leader, and man of God - with a great sense of humor, strong motivation and dynamite work ethic - this is a true loss not only to his family, but to his nation and this war on terror as well. He lived Duty, Honor, Country to the fullest. I believe we can say, "Well Done, Soldier, enter the joy of eternal peace with our God". I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will ease the burden for Daphne, Jonathan, and Samuel (named after Sam Perlin). Rest in Peace, Scott
