I am facinated by that guy Matthew Metz's work. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it before. I think that one of the plates appears to be very decorated even on the back. One of the reasons that it attracted my attention is that it must be very time consuming to make! Does this chap have a web site? Thanks for introducing us to all this new work we don't get much exposure to American potters in this country. Maybe we need some sort of cultural exchange ( though I suppose you are doing that effectively through your blog). Thanks.

Margaret, I've put some links to Matt's work up in a new post. His work is very time consuming to make. The whole surface is usually decorated, even the backs of dishes and inside footrings. It's really amazing. I'm glad I am able to introduce you to some new work from here in the States. Best, Ron
