Gravatar If you are talking about a rant you made over at a another blog, I agree with everything you said there, and I agree with everything you say here.

Right now I am pretty sick of reading bloggers' complaints with how bad local parishes are, how bad liturgy is, etc. I kind of laughed at the uproar on the blogs with the liturgies in the U.S. during Benedict's visit. Not that the pope is above criticism, but the blog experts are apparently more Catholic than the pope . I am not always thrilled with some of the music choices of my parish, etc, but even pre-Vatican II there wasn't a perfect parish. The whole "the Church has to be perfect and everybody excited all the time" model seems too close to what I disliked about evangelicalism. We all need a kick in the pants every once in awhile, but sometimes it seems like we only hear the negatives on the blogosphere.

Maybe I am just overly optimistic, but I am happy to be Catholic.
