Time off from the blog is not a bad idea but keep writing in your journal. You need to keep up the habit or it may go by the wayside. I am headed to Bethesda on Friday for a minor procedure after a "big" tumor scare. Your blog and your strength have both been inspirational.

Angry Dragon you are truly inspirational. I don't know why I was not adequately aware of your situation for these past two years (probably due to me dropping off the face of the Earth while here in Newport RI for 3 years), but Sumo just forwarded me the link to your blog and I spent the last 5 hours reading everything word for word. Two words: absolutely compelling. Compelling as inspiration ever was -especially to deliberately lead the best life possible and to move on it now. From your stoic and heroic attack against "a$$ cancer" as you call it, (the invisible adversary as my Mom a breast-cancer survivor calls it), to your board-building, board-riding, falls-jumping and shark-escaping escapades... just awesome dude. Your writing reflects the best qualities of the human spirit and the ability to focus and overcome the worst of fears and obstacles in life. No kidding Rotorhead, you look more balanced, focused and centered than I've ever seen you during the long days in Easyrider country. Amazing, and yet totally believable knowing your capabilities. It is absolutely apparent to me that you've found your peaceful island soul - family, ocean, music, innovation - and not last or least ... continued service. This is lessons learned in super-human strength and perserverance for the rest of us. When does the book get published?

I've changed some as well after being diagnosed with severe stenosis of my cervical spinal cord in 2007, but more through a fellowship program that I was picked up for after War College... now starting my 3rd year of it... and life is getting back on track. Lots to tell you old friend. We definitely need to catch up. Hope to hear from you when you return from your hiatus! Best, G
