Charles,
Checked in this morning to find all of your updated information. It is good to read your positive self again. It is difficult to wait for test results. You want them now and it takes much longer to do and review. Can't wait to see you on the board. It is so awesome !! Did the kids see that movie Surfs Up ?
Happy Friday (or Saturday for you)

Lee-
Thanks. Waiting is not hard, just a little frustrating, but there isn't much reason to stress over things that are out of one's control. Hope you all are well up North!

Annie-
Yeah and get me a rug made out of fisher cat fur. On second thoughtmaybe just a stuffed fisher cat, in a "leaping attack" pose. Of course since they are 9 feet tall that would be too much to mail, so just stick with the maple syrup. Love you- thanks for helping out the folks - and hopefully the worst of the winter is past already.

I want some maple syrup, too! I'll just eat all of Charles' while he's eating hospital food.
Charlie, you sound better, brother. Dealing with uncertainty--do they offer courses in that? I was talking with Nikki Tuesday night about this very thing, and she says she has difficulty with uncertainty as well. Who doesn't? Uncertainty about whether or not you'll have an internship in Lanai is a bit different than whether or not you've got a recessive cancer gene. Wow, that's a lot. The good news is, you will know it all. The bad news is, just not at the same time (perhaps not for a while, huh?) Hang in there. Annie has done a great job down there keeping Dad and Ma smiling. Lee is up next, and I'll head out there to spoon feed you your beloved B&J's. Just back from San Diego where I reviewed the CACO training. Now I need to put pen to paper and work the curriculum. Looking forward to it. Seriously! Spending next week in beautiful downtown Millington. I went there once in January, got snowed in. Only thing worse than spending a week in Millington is getting snowed in in Millington! Love you! Sue

Sue- Hmmm, Millington...strange place to have a navy. No ocean nearby. Anyhow, I just got over it. Needed to spend a day or two feeling lousy, then I got tired of that and went back to enjoying life. Looking forward to you being here and helping out. See you soon!-Charles

Chaz,
GITMO was fascinating....some impressive young Americans (soldiers, Sailors, airmen, etc) down there really taking one for the team as IAs. Any bad rap that the place gets regarding treatment of detainees is bunk. If anything, you leave pissed at how good they got it. Access to better health care than most of us, 4-5K calories a day, 6 menus to choose from...parts of me were pretty mad.
Did you get my note regarding me coming to Pearl for the KEY COC? May even stay a 2nd night now. The COM is considering bringing his landscaping tolls and doing some work over at Navy-Marine. I hope he does, at it would perhaps give me a couple more hours seeing you and the fam on Saturday AM. I'll let you know as that firms up. Definately there the night of Thursday the 6th of March, maybe also the night of the 7th. COC is AM 7th at Bowfin.
Your board looks great! "Charlie"? You rock man...you are my hero.
And I'm so glad to hear that you are doing a little better....I know you had a tough week+ there...don't kow how you do it...you're a true inpsiration to all of us...I'm humbled by your inner-strength...
Yeah, Yeah, I know, "I love you man!"
Lots of travel coming up...will be humpin' it. March is crazy, to include NAVCENT and JTF HOA. Interesting stuff.
Doug Perry (CO PAS) sent me a high-side from "somewhere onsta" and asked to be remembered to you, and passes well wishes from the pointy end of the spear.
Can't believe the giants did it. I just don't think Eli is that good, but this is truely his coming out party. I thought experience would play better for Farve, but he was looking like the old evil Brett there, throwing into triple coverage, and holding a tight grip on his "most career interceptions" title. Frankly, the cold was bigger factor given his age than anyone talked about in my opinion...you could see it in his eyes...he looked beaten mentally, and at that level so much of it is between the ears...
So yes, I'm on the Pat train, but would like to remind all that the Skins did beat the Giants 22-10 near the end of the season...tough Div NFC East, only Div in NFL with three teams in the playoffs. Yeah, I know, shut up and mind your panel...Skins stink, etc...
I want to see the Brady Bunch go the distance and get this 19-0 thing behnd us (tired of hearing about it), and stop hearing about the '72 Dolphins, etc. Only wish that team had Marino as QB..believe it was Greise. But as tired as I am of the 19-0 thing, we'll then have to start the "Montana v Brady best QB ever" discussion...I still have a soft spot for Montana...I need to do some more "research" (i.e. watching hype!) before I'm ready to fully debate that! I know your ot into it as much, but I'll always remember some great times during those two years on Hawaii with you watching football in the Man Space and debriefing CPF and CSP activities. Great memmories bro.
Well bro, I need to get some work done. We miss yo

Joe- Yeah it ain't the same on the lanai without the continuous running commentary between us (a la "cheap seats"). Seems like no matter what sport it was we found a way to watch and critique (we could DEFINETELY be NFL refs). Hopefully when you make it here I'll be well enough to go out and do something with you.
Agree with you on Favre. Time to go to the booth. I give Eli a 10% chance. Like the Jags, the G men need to play perfect ball and hope the Pats have a bad day. I want the Giants to win...but my bet is on the Pats. Miss you bro, the intervening weeks prior to the superbowl really warrant proper discussion (remember "Holmgren's Heroes"?). Take care, keep your head down out at HOA. -Chaz
P.S. O5 in August, one of the last guys on the list. Hopefully a combo "wetting down" and "cancer free" party.

Hey Charles.....
You made Cody cry. He even stared at the fin for several minutes. Exquisite craftsmanship, beutiful finish, attention to details . You are an artist. My thoughts were.......Does Gibson make an SG kit, could you build me one with the same natural wood look and finish as your board?? That would rock.
I have a week and half before the scoping, done it before, but ouch...didn't like it, if it weren't for you I probably would have disregarded a second outing. Not a fraction of the stuff your going through but I still dread it.
Just one more picture please, how bout you inside a curl on the new ride?? That would be one for our big wall-o-photos.
Talk to you soon, heads-up.........Rod

Rod- I got the frame from Grain surfboards down in York. Did all the rest on my own, except the fin (True Ames). Fins are tricky...you can screw up a lot on a board, but as long as the fin works you can still surf...so I went with a pro job. I'll take it down to Waikiki for its first surf, in the shadow of diamond head. Seems only fitting. As far as a picture, I'd love one, but I don't have a "personal surf photographer". WIll have to work on that.
