Gravatar To me the most important thing about letting a pitcher complete his apprenticeship in the minors is that the free agent clock isn't running while the pitcher is still trying to figure out what's what.

Gravatar I'd add Gobble to that list. I think the Royals really rushed him to the major leagues in 2003 when their rotation was falling apart. Its hurt his development.

Its a very interesting question - why do the Royals use AAA as a holding cell for their AAAA players, but skip most of the "real" prospects straight from AA to the majors? Is there a logic behind this?

Gravatar Being from Lincoln, I would love to hear an analysis of Byron Embry, as I hear he is doing real well and has a shot at making the club.

What are his realistic chances, and can you write more about him?

Also am interested in your breakdown of who breaks camp as the utility infielder, whether its Clapinski or Luis, and if Truby is on the DL to start the year, and they are intent on starting Teahan at AAA, who takes over at 3b?
