I think Teahen's success not only comes in keeping the ball up, but what he's doing to the balls he's popping up:

I think the Mellinger story talked about Teahen working on getting around quicker on those inside pitches or just laying off of them. Once he made those adjustments, he consistantly hit the ball higher, longer, and stronger.
