Gravatar Wishing you the very best Raph. Travel safely, your going to love the west coast.

Gravatar Good luck. God bless you and your family. I wish you all much success. I hope you rejoin us soon.

Gravatar Don't forget to check out a career with the Canadian Forces - good pay - excellent benefits - great travel!

Cheers

Barry Westholm (I serious!

- travel safe...

Gravatar Once you get hold of that West Coast weed you'll go totally Liberal.

Gravatar Wonderful, you will love the west. You went one province too far, but hey, BC is still great.

This is a great move for a young family, you are moving from a stagnate province to one bursting with youth and energy. Good luck, you can still blog occasionally, late at night when you need "your" time.

Gravatar Good luck with the move Raphael. Vancouver is definitely a nice place to live. The Grouse Grind is one of the things I miss the most about moving to the Okanagan.

Thanks for the good reading. I've been on holiday, so I've got your last week or so of posts to read. I'll keep checking the RSS feed.

Gravatar We swapped Montreal for BC last summer and aren't regretting it yet. We drove across (as a family of four) .... I don't think I'd recommend it in March, however.

Check out www.katkam.ca for the latest piccies.

Gravatar Best of luck to you and your family out in BC! I hope you return to writing on your blog soon, it's a great daily read!

Cheers,

Caroline

Gravatar Good luck and all the best to your family.

Gravatar Good bigcitylib being high on weed makes you a liberal. I guess being sober makes you a Tory.
A good explanation of delusional grits.

Gravatar Congratulations on your new job and the big move out to Beautiful B.C. (now modestly touting itself as “The Best Place on Earth ”). I hope it proves to be a rewarding experience for you and your family.

And remember… Victoria is just a short day trip away.

Gravatar Oops. Bad link there: http://www.harbour-air.com/fares.php

Gravatar Raphael...all the best to you and your family. It sounds exciting!
I have enjoyed your approach to blogging.Hope to see you back at this soon!

Gravatar Welcome to Vancouver and best of luck out here. Seems like I'm not the only one who's decided to make this trip. =P

Gravatar You'll be missed during you hiatus, Raph. Good luck with the move. Looking forward to your blog resuming.

Gravatar Welcome to the West Raph! My your dreams become fulfilled, my your family prosper!

Cheers,
lance

Gravatar Geez, dude, ya coulda let me know! Good luck to you and your family out west. Say hi to my sister, and try to resist the urge to strangle all those left-wing pot-smoking anarchist junkies while you're there.

I don't know when you're planning to leave, but if you're still around on March 29th you're welcome to come hear me sing at our upcoming Choristers concert. I've even got a (very brief) solo during the Schubert.

If you get a chance, please post something on K&D to let people know why it will be down for a while. Otherwise let me know and I'll post something.

Gravatar I blame Red Tory for this!

You know how much I admire your blog and will be waiting for your return. Good luck, Raphael.

Gravatar Good move, RA! I left Toronto 25 years ago and never looked back. The west coast rules!

Packing advice: Leave the snow shovel, bring the umbrella.

Gravatar Good luck, Raphael. Enjoy your good fortune when you find it.

Gravatar Good luck with the move, and I hope everything works out as planned.

Gravatar Looking forward to your return. Safe journeys my friend.

Gravatar Raphael: A farewell gift? You're the "Update" here:

"Our immigration mess"

Best,

Gravatar You're coming to the Wet Coast? Cool! You're gonna love it here! About the only thing you'll miss will be the political superiority that Easterners seem to feel is their due...lol.

Gravatar Good luck with the move to Canada's second-best coast.

Gravatar Good luck, and welcome. I'm always happy for converts who see the light

Let me know when you get into town. If you need someone on this end of things - say you need to pick my brain about the city or whatever - just e-mail me.

Gravatar Yahoo- You'll be a great addition to Jarrett and Mac. I wager you'll be asking yourself why you didn't move sooner (from one who moved 35 years ago). If you are looking to avoid gridlock, though, you are moving to the wrong city. Cheers.

Gravatar Well, this is good news, indeed!

Call on me any time as you need to - and I'm looking forward to sitting down in person & putting a face to the electronic voice.

Bruce

Gravatar get ready for real estate sticker shock !!

Gravatar Ontario will miss you! Good luck and safe travels!

Gravatar Good luck! Gonna miss your blog, get back when you can.

I hope this works out to be everything you want it to.

Gravatar Yeehaw! We've got the right whingers on the run, boys.

Gravatar Maybe he'll end up in Kits. Now that would be funny.

Gravatar If you thought the "The traffic here is literally like slow torture" you'd better buy a place close to work.

Gravatar Raph, when you get a moment, your blog platform is misbehaving, again. And it has nothing to do with Firefox. I'm on IE.

Gravatar You are moving a long way. Remember to save all yor receipts, travel, meals, hotels, cost of selling your home/breaking a lease ect, plus 2 wks stay in a hotel with meals at your new location. If your car breaks down, repairing it is a moving expense. Need new tires, get them while travelling. If you do not make enough from your new job during the year to cover all these, carry them fwd to next year.
And, if you are using a moving company, make sure you get a firm written quote. If using a U-haul, that is also deductible.
Good luck, and enjoy the new carbon tax coming soon in BC.

Gravatar Good luck Raphael.
I have enjoyed your blog and I hope that you can return to it once you are settled in your new home.

Gravatar Welcome to the West Coast, Raphael. We moved to Victoria in 2003 and have loved it ever since. Just got back from vacation last week and the cherry blossom is out, the daffodils are up and spring is in air. (That was especially for all you folks still at the Centre of the Universe.)

Good luck with the move, and hope you get the blog back up again soon - look on it as therapy for the stress of moving.

Gravatar Good Luck to you and your family Raphael. The beauty of the left coast is it has the BEST skiing. Bar none.

Gravatar Welcome to Vancouver. We're moving in the opposite direction in July - but we're going to miss a lot. Only suggestion I have - get a bike - don't even attempt driving here.

Gravatar Hug a tree for me!

Gravatar Van is nice, good luck.

Gravatar Good Luck.

Vancouver is a funny place with a great climate and wonderfully diverse people. One of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Tomm

Gravatar I hear you. I was in the same boat years ago when I just couldn't take Toronto (and Ontario) anymore and decided to go West -- I have not regretted my decision.

Eastern and Central Canada have become way too narrow (in every sense of the word!), and for freedom-loving, independent thinkers, anything west of Alberta is simply wrong.
