hi - just sent an email about this too - beta looks amazing....however, unlike the old version where a movie onto a movie (via probes, like superimposing a head or whatever) was thrown into the right side panel in the compose view, the new version does not seem to be supporting this particular feature...

everything else works perfectly for me - blurs, stars, hearts, etc...BUT when i try to add a movie in the compose view, the placement box looks right - but noplace to add the actual movie, and when it is dragged in to the panel, it simply replaces the original movie instead of taking over the probe box...

Great proggie, two things I was wondering:

1. Magnet community, any chance of a bulliten board being set up so we can talk, share ideas, etc.

2. Are there more compostions coming? The heart is cute but there is only so much you can do with it. Other objects, glasses, hair, animals, horns, halos, would be nice.

also, what would be very cool is a plugin for folks who want to develop drop-in effects (think 'stencils' for omnigraffle, things that take some time but that people love) - these could be images or whatever, just some easy to way isolate and then add/drop as desired...

to gary: We are thinking of implementing a share repository for compositions, as they can also be created by anyone in Quartz Composer. A forum could be interesting as well.

newest beta works perfectly - and what i REALLY appreciate is the ability to easily resize and move around movie-on-movie layouts without having to rely exclusively on the probe manipulation via edit panel (new wysiwig drag/expand/rotate is awesome, really brilliant)...as for 'stencils' i mean just an analogy, like what they're talking about above: some simple instructions for users who want to create new effects, and simple path to get them, share them, remove/add, etc - ideally with some community ratings or something....kind of like how graffletopia works for the omnigraffle pro community with stencil sharing)
