Gravatar They don't want to admit that people can starve to death in the US. It happened during the Depression, but they covered it up by listing the deaths as heart failure.

Food insecurity is not knowing if you should admit that you hate a relative's casserole, not that you have nothing to eat.

My late father's family suffered "food insecurity" in the Great Depression, and that was with all three brothers, the oldest around 14 or 15, working as many odd jobs as they could find. I wouldn't bet against another wave of "food insecurity" in our great nation; everything from environmental factors to economic factors point in that direction.
