Hi greenyes,

My Friday perfume is Chergui. I don't really have any "spring" perfumes (though I am a huge fan of Champaca). I just wear my winter perfumes year round.

Happy Friday to you

Gravatar Dzing! sounds like a great choice for today. I was planning to try out my sample of PG Psychotrope today, but I am still getting over some bug. I'm not sure that I can handle leather today! I think that a light spritz of Youth Dew Amber Nude might do it for me.

Have you tried L'Artisan La Haie Fleurie? I feel like I have been smothered by white flowers at first, but I do like it. I can't imagine ever using an entire bottle of that one. It smells like Spring on steroids to me.

I hope you have a good day.
Kathy T

Gravatar Hi Sabrina! I also wear most of my perfumes year round--like Dzing!--except for heavier perfumes with leather, like Femme. Those seem to turn on me in the heat.

Champaca is one of my ultimate rainy cool weather scents, more for a mood than anything, because the perfume itself would work anytime.

Gravatar Kathy, I'm sorry to hear you've been fighting a bug. Seems rampant these days! Today would be a good YDAN day. I am still considering a bottle of that one. I guess I'd better hurry before it disappears completely!

I believe I have a sample of La Haie Fleurie. I ordered a bunch of those hard-to-find L'Artisans back in the fall...I'll check. Funny, but it's always a L'Artisan perfume that pulls me out of a slump.

I hope you're all better soon.

Gravatar Sorry to hear you've got the blahs, Greeneyes. I think a lot of us are feeling that way as we wait for winter to end. It's snowing here again.

I hope you'll soon write about Osmanthe Yunnan...you got me psyched for that one last week.

My perfume today is Chance. I'm giving it another...chance. And actually kinda diggin' it today.

Gravatar Suzanne, I pulled out Chance and wore it last weekend. I've always liked it, but I forgot how much! I have a small bottle that's almost empty, and I seriously thought to myself that I need to buy another.

I need to get more Osmanthe Yunnan to sample so I can write about it! I wore it all, I liked it so much. If Jean Claude Ellena happens to be reading this...I'd love a free sample. Just shoot me an email!

Have a lovely evening and stay warm!

Gravatar Hi, greeneyes! My Friday perfume is Tom Ford Black Orchid Voile d'Fleur, which I bought a small bottle of as a splurge last week. Have you smelled it? I really like it - it has a sparkling opening from the bergamot, then the florals come out. Gardenia and honeysuckle are listed as notes, which are two that usually smell awful on me, but in VdF are darker than you'd expect. The base is dark, woody, with that black truffle note from the first BO. Only thing I wish is that it came in an edp. It's an edt, which keeps it light enough for work in small doses, but it doesn't last as long as I'd like. It's a nice transition-y kind of scent. Chanel 19 is the other one I'm wearing to combat the winter blues. I'm sorry you are feeling down. I saw that my local grocery store had some fresh daffodils & hyacinths for sale. Having spring flowers in the house does make me feel better, and might work for you, too. Take care, there are brighter days and more easily found words ahead!

Gravatar Rosarita! I've been wanting to try that one. I liked the original, although I must admit I only tried it once, spritzing on the back of my hand at Nordys around the holidays. VdF sounds lovely the way you describe it.

Thank you for your kind words! I have had my eye on some flowers...that might be just the ticket!

Gravatar Hello! It's Sunday, not Friday, and I'm wearing Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. (One of the very few Serges that is actually very easy to wear for me. Almost bottle worthy I think. We'll see if I make it to the end of the sample.) It's not springtime-ish at all, but I needed some resins to ground me in the middle of all those springtime tender emotions. Everything starts stirring and taking flight this time of year doesn't it? And I think we feel it as sadness as much as joy...

Sending you (finally!) some springtime in an envelope TOMORROW.

Gravatar And meant to say -- why not write about what you're wearing and what it means to you as you are going through your day? Why you are reaching for a particular scent in your collection?

I think our collection scents get short shrift sometimes. It doesn't always have to be about the new, new, new...

Gravatar Hi A! It's true, spring can bring some melancholy the same way fall and winter do. Everything gets so bright, it can be overwhelming. That's why I like the rainy days the best, I think.

Good idea about writing about my own collection. I'm honestly not sure why I reach for what I do when I'm not sampling, because I just don't want to think about it, I guess. But it would be interesting to ponder, because Dzing! was making me so, so happy, and I was very conscious of having it on.

I hope your week is lovely!
