at first i was concerned that moshe wouldn't have really known how to make a proper satmar hat (using the proper/holy 18th century European techniques). however, this difficulty is also resolved by an open verse: we know moshe rabbeinu knew of his impending death, as he writes it down in the 10th to last verse of his books. so, he could see the future, and also take things like hats from it.
