Ironically, many of the challenges to blue laws came from shomer shabbat Jews -- see the Supreme Court's 1961 decision in Gallagher v. Crown Kosher Market, where the owners of a kosher store challenged Massachusett's ultra-strict Sunday closing laws.


Gravatar Good point. I just found this interesting in the context of Orthopraxy, given that we subscribe to a system of practices rather than beliefs, and dismiss problematic moral issues with a simple "It doesn't exist anymore."
