Very interesting. Here is one example where God will use evil to find good. Maybe these repenting atheist abortion doctors will be the catalyst to ending abortions. I mean, if an atheist sees abortion as murder, then the tide is really turning.

*Yawn*
Abortion is as old as the human race. It will always be around, one way or the other, as long as women have unwanted pregnancies. One person's choice of semantics isn't proof of anything.

"Abortion is as old as the human race. It will always be around, one way or the other, as long as women have unwanted pregnancies."
You can make that claim for a whole host of things. Murder. Slavery. Rape.
Does that mean they should all be legal?
No.
But the abortionist is telling it like it is: it's murder.
It doesn't mean he wants it ILLEGAL.
He's just telling what abortion is: it's the killing of a human being.
We've always said that all along.

Huh? I think you missed a couple of steps there, I don't get the connection.

Interesting post. I blogged about this a few weeks ago.
I think the pro-life forces are going to have to recognize that if we religionize this issue - as indeed we have - we are going to invariably alienate certain demographics who might otherwise come to our side. The pro-life argument is rational, humanitarian, morally true, and we should emphasize these qualities and limit the religiosity component. There are a lot of people out there who have issues with religion and religious institutions. Their dislike for these traditions may determine the impact of the pro-life message. Whether we like it or not, we have to acknowledge that much of what drives the pro-abortion side is a P.R. campaign. I say we beat them at their own game.
As for the yawning, psychedelic commentator above, I would readily acknowledge that abortion is a choice. I just happen to believe that my right to life supercedes your right to choose.

"if an atheist sees abortion as murder, then the tide is really turning."
What on earth does that mean? What does atheism have to do with abortion?
Your idea seems to be that if someone so evil (atheist) sees abortion as murder then perhaps your anti-abortion efforts are working... The problem, of course, is that atheists aren't evil, don't lack morals, and have NOTHING to do with abortion.
But other than that I'm sure you're spot-on!! (roll eyes).
"I just happen to believe that my right to life supercedes your right to choose"
I couldn't agree more... but you should notice that YOU aren't a fetus inside my belly - so your statement is rather meaningless in this debate.

I don't think that's what he meant. It's meant to respond to the idea that ONLY religious people think abortion is murder.

But when he was a fetus, that still stood.

Sure... except legally, morally or realistically. Other than that I'm sure you have a good point.
