"The feminists are whining!!" Oh, SUZANNE.
Let me give you an analogy: Do you think it's fair that you and other P/L blogs have to compete in the same category with conservative blogs like SDA and DMB? Because I don't think that's very fair either. (But naturally, it's your prerogative to request another category.)
Just my 2cents

I am trying to figure out who DMB is. I've checked several blogrolls out.
I'm guessing by P/L you mean Progressive Liberals. I thought they'd compete in the Progressive Category. If Jason Cherniak can make it to Progressive Bloggers, I think he counts as a Progressive. Not that I would categorize him that way, myself.

P/L = "pro-life"
DMB = Dust My Broom (just trying to think of popular conservative blogs that don't address any of the same topics as yours and other socon blogs do)

I think it's totally fair to compete against SDA and Dust My Broom. We're all on the right side of the spectrum. It seems like a natural category to me.

Well, I'm pleased. The man-hating, racist feminists didn't get their way and now they're using posts like this to garner sympathy:
From Pale:
Geeze. A division in society.
Soooooooooooo. what your saying is….that we should just return to the days of yore? what? Go back to ownership? Do tell.
I think the thing is, if people want to live their lives in the shadow of misogynist religious doctrines and be treated as chattel?
So, not having a feminist category is making women chattel. And while this person is at it, she's insulting all religions, so much for their supposed tolerance.
Berlynn tried to make it seem like that she innocently asked for a feminist category. Yeah right, I have some land in Florida that is just ripe for selling.
Suzanne, I congratulate you and anyone else who stood up and voiced their objections because as we all know, feminists don't like democracy. It's their way or the highway and as we saw, they pouted and withdrew from it when they didn't get their way. Case closed.

The sense of overweening entitlement. Never mind that it would bias the awards in favour of one ideology, when there are plenty of ideologies represented.
Oh-- but the others could have their own catgories--
Yeah, and increase the work proportionally. It's only their perspective that matters. The work that SaskBoy and Nothern BC Dipper have to put it-- well they're entitled to it.

This is funny Kate wins every year at the weblog awards for best Canadian, I love her blog, but even though she's a female she's not a feminist.
It just shows, when they say "they represent all women" how they can only say it with a straight face because they are on heroin.
Is Kate not a woman deserving their protection from blogs like mine? :
) They should have one just for women so feminists can prove how well they represent Canadian women.

Actually, I can understand having the best blog that is developed by a female withoutspecifying that it has to be a feminist philosophy or even more interestingly perhaps a "best feminist blog" and a "best traditional woman" blog or something like that.
Either way I don't think that GLBT blogs and feminist blogs are the same things. I don't think that most feminists that are heterosexual would profess to have meaningful insight into gay and lesbian issues nor do I think that most gay men would feel they could speak to feminist matters.
