Gravatar It's probably a bit ironic where I fall on this issue, since I spent 14 years in a congregation that had an overwhelming emphasis on "equipping the saints" and never held one revival meeting or hosted one evangelist. I benefitted and matured because of it. Sometimes we had worship service with only a short word and without a single altar call. Sunday morning services could often become places of experimentation ... teaching the body how to pray for each other, for example. If that doesn't sound very seeker sensitive, it wasn't.

However, the distinction of the Cross -- the Source -- was always made relevant in any message. It wasn't evangelism by the book, but it was evangelism by nature.

Gravatar Just wanted to add a thank you to everyone who allowed me to participate. It's a privelege to fellowship with all of you! Thanks to blogotional for putting out an interesting topic.

Gravatar "This would indicate that the reception of the gospel is not a one time event, but a lifetime journey." - Well said, I couldn't agree with you more.
