Gravatar Amen, John. I felt you brought this home a little more clearly than PJ.

Gravatar "Evangelical" can mean any one of a number of things anymore, depending on the labeler's frame of reference (both secular and Christian). I've been following Mark D. Roberts' dissection of the statement issued by the National Association of Evangelicals, For the Health of our Nation. This document, and Roberts' commentary could be a good focal point from which to start an examination of the state of the evangelical movement.

Gravatar Until I began blogging, I never realized how much stress people put on the evangelical 'label.' I pretty much considered myself part of the body of Christ and called it good. I hold to certain beliefs and doctrine I learned in my church, which happens to be an evangelical church. But I didn't let it define me more than the relationship I have with God. Maybe I'm just naive.
