Blogotional

Gravatar Well, my mind says, thank you for saying it's okay for me to have not experienced one or both of these. I didn't think I should feel, uh, less than? Is that how they tried to make me feel? Uh, yeah. that was it. Good blogging, John.

Gravatar As someone well versed in the experiential, I wholly agree with you. We all know Adrian wasn't writing with a superior attitude, but that's what some infer when they read those words. It's similar to a Calvinist telling someone their loved one had the misfortune of not being "chosen," because they've yet to receive the saving grace of God.

I do think it's important to recognize that the love of God expressed in the Bible can be experienced by anyone in a real and tangible way, but you don't have to shake, rattle, and roll to experience it. For some, the gentle peace that comes with the wisdom and revelation of reading the Bible is as profound as any charismatic experience.

What's important in any experience is that it produces Godly fruit. That's the measuring stick, I believe.
