I don't think “fake prizes” qualify as the same type of transgression as the other items on your list. Fake prizes are more of a facilitator or an enabler for deception, rather than an actual method of deception.
You could almost start a second list of "causes" for the current situation with the MSM, things that contribute to the culture of dishonesty. I would consider this one a form of "Positive Feedback", analogous to that in a mechanical system. From wikipedia:
Positive feedback is a type of feedback. Open systems (ecological, biological, social) contain many types of regulatory systems, among which are systems that involve positive feedback and its relative negative feedback. When a change of variable occurs in a system, the system responds. In the case of positive feedback the response of the system is to change that variable even more in the same direction. This has a de-stabilizing effect, so left unchecked, does not result in homeostasis. In some cases (if not controlled by negative feedback), a positive feedback loop can run out of control, and can result in the collapse of the system.
If you consider the “system” to be a metaphor for the MSM, the promotion of those who agree with the establishment causes more of the "distinguished up-and-comers", who will form the future establishment, to agree with the existing establishment. Without external correction this reaches a critical mass and actually begins to act contrary to the stated goals of the establishment, ie the delivery of unbiased, honest news. System failure.
Other forms of culturally significant positive feedback would be academic tenure voted upon by a self-selecting board, peer-edited journals that refuse to publish work by dissenting authors, book reviews written by people promoted because they toed the party line, etc.
FWIW, your blog would be considered a form of "negative feedback" which helps prevent the system from failing

Good points. But that is a little more nuanced than I want to be. Maybe I want the "system" to fail. Although you really didn't define "system." If, by "system", you mean the whole U.S. civilization with which the MSM/DNC has become entangled like a parasite, I certainly don't want THAT to fail. Anyway, this discussion is too abstract for our purposes. We aren't "there" yet.
