Besides the crescent part--I simply don't get the design. It has no connection to the heroism of the people on the flight. It's just post-modern junk.

I'd laugh, if it wasn't so damn disgusting to think that they're actually going to build that memorial. Maybe they should just stick half of a plane into the ground instead. Let's start a petition to rename that little field in PA "Attaville". YEAH! That'll do it. What about starting a flight school for Islamic terrorists instead, as a reminder of what happens when things go wrong and the victims take over your evil plans. All equally disgusting ideas, yet a lot more appropriate than a red crescent.
God... I *hate* morons.

Terrible. If Todd Beamer had a grave he would be rolling over in agony over this! How did the ACLU get control of the architect selection. Why was not a partiotic American firm select? Who is in charge here?

This memorial is just like the vandals that paint swastikas on Jewish gravestones.

This was powerfully written. I am really angry that they are talking about merely "re-designing" what they call a "misunderstood" design. I want the whole thing trashed and another memorial designed by a different artist. Anything else is an affront.
