As I posted over at , it's very likely that Bush knows her views very well. The opposition has two pieces of ammo that I see - a lack of a judicial record, and the charge of cronyism. There's nnothing to whip up the left's base, and the cries of dismay from the right will reassure the Dems.
But remember that one of this President's greatest talents is getting his opponents to "misunderestimate" him.
A war over Janice Rogers-Brown would be red meat to the red states, but it would tie up resources better used elsewhere. At HBS they teach you about wise use of resources, and maintaining strategic reserves. Big-picture thinking.
Justice Stevens is 85; Bush has another three years in office. Think strategy, not tactics.
