Gravatar Thanks for this review, I wasn't familiar with this movie. It sounds great, I just ordered it from Blockbuster.

Gravatar También luchó contra los sarracenos en "El Cid", 1961.........

Gravatar Cassandra;

I think you totally mistaken regarding al mahdi in sudan..he is not shia like Iranian..he was patriot leader fight for his country against the intruder British..not terrorist ..
instead of publish lies ..please just read a little about history before u talk about something you really don’t know well..you can search in the British books to see what they said about sudan and sudan people.
About DARFOUR they are all Muslims no Christian there and there fight against government because of political reasons but the media make it something different.

all the best

Gravatar cassandra,...did u ever read about the crusades?
mahdi sounds like the qin dynasty emperor who wanted to consolidate all power under one guild.
and now we have prc...aka peope repub china.

if u duly noted..he didnt mention asia or north america etc.just his land aka the middle east and Constantinople which im sure u can read about urself.
Peace,
-rm

Gravatar P.s: have u seen "Lawrence of Arabia"?
what did u think of that one? i also recommend everyone should see "Saints and Soldiers"..a relatively new movie which touches on many subjects relevant to war and its blind audacity of conscripting men who dont really know why they are killing each other except for the difference in their uniforms.

Gravatar Thank you for this review. This film is one of my favourite and I agree it is a pity that it is today largely forgotten. However, you made a slight mistake regarding the Mahdi explaining his plan to "Gordon Pacha": it's during the first scene between the two, whereas the cut hand and heads are in the second scene (rather at the end of the movie).
