Feel free to move to California because, according to the first comment at Hot Air, plenty of housing should be opening up:

'Just watch. A whole bunch of Christians in CA will have to choose to move out of state, rather than facing all of the hits on them. First, the ruling against homeschooling, now this. What’s next? Lawsuits against churches for not marrying gays?

There already is a shirt out there that says “So Many Christians, So Few Lions.”'

We'll make sure to keep the lawns mowed and open a few windows to air out the sanctimony until you get here.

Gravatar it's an historic day, and i'm proud to be a californian.

Gravatar Don't be so proud yet. They just overturned the ban voted for by the people of California. And it looks like the people will get another crack at being fucking assholes in November. I reserve judgment until then.

Gravatar In the meantime, thousands of couples will get married before November.

It's still a step forward. And even if the good guys lose in November, demographically, it's clear what'll happen in the future, as younger people are strikingly pro-equal-rights.

This is the start, and we know how it'll end.

Gravatar It's four people who aren't even necessarily pro-gay marriage. On the other hand, a majority of Californians voted against it, and while I hope they prove me wrong, I think they'll vote against it again in November. I agree that things will change eventually, but I'll wait a bit before celebrating.

Gravatar my 80% catholic province has recognized same sex unions since 02 and marriage since 04. xtian dynamic is a little more subtle than most of the left ever realize.

Gravatar It's not the Christian dynamic, it's the majority of Californians who, when given the opportunity, chose to trample the civil rights of their neighbors, friends and family. When I'm in the central valley, I'm not seeing a widespread demographic change.

Again, I hope I'm just being pessimistic and the voters prove me wrong in November.

Gravatar I think it'll be close. This poll puts support at 43% in California (and growing steadily).

Depressed Republican turnout for McCain, a candidate that many of them don't particularly like (especially evangelicals) and massive Dem turnout for Obama are going to make it extremely tight.

If we lose, it'll be something like 52%-48%.
