Gravatar If you hum it, I might know it.

Gravatar Wasn't it a Peter Gabriel song, Sledgehammer?

Gravatar Rob - Er, dum de dum de dum? Unfortunately I can't remember the song at all, so can't even sing it down the phone to Shazam.

Steve - No, not that. I keep thinking it was Herbie Hancock, but it wasn't Rockit, so maybe it wasn't him as I can't remember him having any other big hits like that, and YouTube has got me nowhere with him. I think it was someone quite electronic/avant-garde, like Herbie Hancock, or Thomas Dolby...?

I'm not actually going to rip it off, we're just trying to do something interactive where you can make a vocal melody and the video "follows", and I just wanted to reference it so everyone knew what I meant.

Gravatar Not what you're looking for, but this is similar and very cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E...h? v=EzSstcvLmYM

Gravatar Any clues? Male artist, female artist, group?

Well known band? Useless band?

Gravatar You're not thinking of Art of Noise Close to the Edit?

Punk child, smashy piano, chainsaw double bass...

Gravatar Glory - No, not that either.

Exit - No idea I'm afraid. I want to say solo male, doing good but rather experimental synth pop. Maybe early-mid 80s? Hence the fixation that it was Herbie Hancock. Or Thomas Dolby? Must have been a reasonably succesful artiste to have afforded such a video. YouTube is not yet my friend on this.

Dan - That is great. CGI has its place, but stop-frame is the best kind of animation. Though I found out the other week that the animators don't like the stage direction "The hundreds and thousands go everywhere"...

Google really needs to get its act together to be able to find answers to questions like this.

Gravatar Just a suggestion. Howard Jones?

Gravatar I remember that video too. Thought Harold Faltermeyer, but it wasn't on the Beverly Hills Cop video. I'll keep thinking/looking. But tell us if you find it!
