That extractor thing looks really, really scary.
But I am totally with the dermatologists who prescribe the Cosmetics Restriction Diet. As someone who has had the worst skin on the planet, refused to go on Accutane and finally have a bit of clarity in my complexion, I believe in Jesus--no, just kidding. I believe in diet, good soap and water, and a moisturizer with only 1-4 ingredients. I've been make-up free for years (lipstick doesn't count, right?), and my face looks much better without all the crap.

I had exactly one facial in my life and I HATED it. I would never, ever do it again.
The skin care industry has gone berserk in recent years. Seems there no amount of money you can charge for a moisturizer that someone isn't willing to cough up. Hope in a jar. I have to admit I've fallen for it a few times, and always wind up going back to the same cream I've used since college. Guess that's MY religion.

You need moisturizer on the east coast too.
I can attest that you really only need two things for good skin: good genes and to stay out of the sun.

I forgot to mentiont hat I once watched Jon's aunt spend over $500 on skin care products. And it was four bottles. Holy crap.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for your recognition of the scariness of said device.
Ellen, thank you for affirming the craziness of the skin care industry. My "favorite" facial is one that involves bird poop. Yes, on your face. Very clarifying.
And, Ghost Girl, yes, moisturizer does seem more omni-needed than just deserts. And that seems like a lot to spend on skin care products.

I KNOW that bird poop facial. It's offered at Ten Thousand Waves in Santa Fe. I have to say if I had the cash, I'd be tempted by the sheer weirdness of it.

Ha, ha. Yes, it's at 10,000 Waves in Santa Fe where you can have your face covered in bird poo. Mmmmmm.... I'm thinking if we return to NM, we'll have to do it together, no? That's the sort of experience that needs to be shared.

Yes, and there are only a few people on the planet with whom I could see myself doing that. And you're one of them.
