"1. When things are painful, think: other people feel the same thing, often at the same time."
And that's the most important thing, isn't it? To be reminded that other people are suffering too, for the same reasons, and would understand how you feel.
That you are not alone.
...By the way, about the 'false friend': forgive me (because I do not know this person or her motives) for butting (no pun intended) in, but could it be that the skirt really didn't suit you and that she was trying (uncouthly) to warn you? I mean, my friends and I havea pact to tell one another honestly about clothes and whether or not they suit/look good.
Just a thought.
Anyway, good posts.

Hey, Alice, I think that part of the trouble with suffering is its isolation, so relieving it somewhat always seems to help (me).
As far as the skirt goes, I think we can all agree that it did not flatter me. But this person seemed to blame me and my body rather than the skirt, which was on sale because I"m sure it didn't flatter anyone!

Love this concept. I'm going to give it a try. Sometime. When I can handle a bit extra pain. Soon. In the near future.

I hope you do try it, Katrina. It's not as painful as it sounds.
