On the other hand, I *think* when the gal in the white skirt went on TV, you could see her underwear when she sat down. That's okay to request she cover up, in my book.
On the other hand, heck, we had people sometimes dressing worse than that at my old job.

As a fat woman, this doesn't surprise me. Southwest has often discriminated on account of their passengers' appearance, randomly (and yes, it does seem to be random) deciding that one passenger is too fat and must buy another seat without confirming that this is, indeed, the case.
I haven't flown Southwest in years, and will never fly them again if I have the choice. Their latest actions certainly haven't changed my mind on that.

Ghostie, I think it's only okay if they ask everyone with visible undies to cover up, but this seems wildly inconsistent and discriminatory. And, trust me, I've seen lots of underwear on Southwest flights. Speaking of which, it's almost time to go to Home Depot.
I've heard that, anonymous, about folks being forced to purchase another ticket if a flight attendant deems that a passenger is taking up too much room. There seems to be a pattern for shame and humiliation (since there are other ways to handle each of these situations).

This is appalling. Clearly because the women in question are nubile. If they were middle aged women in short tight clothing, there would be no harrassment. I'm hoping the ACLU takes this on. I know, it sounds silly, but this is the thin edge of the wedge. Simply unacceptable. Thanks, Stephanie, for bringing this to my attention.

I don't think it's silly at all. It's part of this completely contradictory package that women are sold about their bodies.

Ah, it's Bush country, y'all. Each day brings with it more repressive absurdity.
Burkas, anyone?
