My email sig now says "please don't print this unless you really need to", with a little green tree next to it. I stole it from a co-worker who stole it from someone in the UK (who probably got it somewhere else).
Who knows if it'll work, but it's a gentle reminder...

I have to laugh a little about this, because I try not to print anything at all at work to offset my boss, who prints _everything_ - even her email! She just isn't comfortable without paper files. When she retires, her office will have to be cleaned out with a shovel, or maybe a match. (I won't be there, yay!)

At least you're offsetting it, Jess. And CK, that's a good idea!

My last boss had Outlook set to print all emails when they came in. Even spam.
At this place, they print a cover sheet for each job. If I am printing 5 copies of one document, it still makes 5 cover sheets. So I have a sticky that reminds me of this. I also print preview everything to make sure I'm not printing more pages than I need. I've had the nightmare of discovering I just printed 100 pages of crap.

Ghostie and Jess, I'm remembering a "management" workshop I took a decade ago that actually told us to print everything. If it wasn't printed, it wasn't real!
