Summer before college, I worked at a chain Mexican restaurant. Nothing dramatic, but I can still remember how powerless, and humiliated I felt when the regional manager came for a visit and informed me that I walked like a boy -- then took his hands, put them on my hips and "taught" me how to swish them.
Creep.
That sounds horrible. Did you tell your parents? I think this is a blind spot for many parents.
Holy mackerel! You are so right; parents need to be in constant communication with their kids about things like this. It helps to start early, but it's never too late I guess.
