You sound like me. I have daydreamed about winning the lottery many times. Here's what I would do...
1. pay off all of my bills and my parent's first
2. set aside money to pay for the kid's college
3. Have a log home built in northern Alabama for myself.
4. donate money to our church and it's school
5. donate money to my old elementary and high schools
6. Take my parents on a nice long vacation to Hawaii
7. put aside money for my sister's kids for college
...and a bunch more.

Oh...and buy my husband an antique car of his choice. And for me, a retro Camaro or Vette.

WOW you are soo generous - what good ppl you 2 are!! We would help out family and freinds as well- but honestly the curse of the winning lotto has me afraid- ya know someone wins and is either dead or bankrupt within the yr. I have to say I am more grateful for the non- monetary things I have been blessed with, but even tho I sound all pious and stuff- money is surley what maked life easier - I want just enough to make life a little easier, ya know? And like you - for freinds and family that are in need or in tight times - to be able to help them and not worry about that help being detrimantal to our finaces...oh to dream- good post - makes ya think -

I think about this whenever I'm going to visit by brother across the lake. He's about an hour drive from me and along the way at the start of the trip is a billboard that always announces the amount you can win. So depending on what the amount is I always daydream what I would do. I always seem to divide whatever the amount is into 3 equal parts: one part for me, one part for friends and family and the third part for starting some type of charity-probably to deal with the aftereffects of Katrina still.

I'd go out and buy all the cars I used to own and couldn't afford to keep. I had a '68 Mustang once, but it was not a Mach I.
I later had a '93 Cobra and wished I could have afforded to keep it...I could now, but when you get old what's the use.

When we get older Mushy, memories are like gold to us.
If i had a car like that and had memroies, I would bring back that, even if it was to keep to keep in the driveway.
To be able to lean back, smell the leather, feel the chrome and fisnih, feel the rumble of horsepower...to remember and relive those moments....
I think it would be worth it.
Memory is a interesting thing. I can have it trigger off a smell, or a song. to remember things that happened when that song or that smell took place - things I thought long forgotten.
Good memories are a blessing - and to be able to relive them, even if for just a moment, is a wonderful thing.
