Dear Saqib and Susan,
I read about the unfortunate scene at your house over the weekend and am sorry that people are so nasty and ignorant. Politics should not be a religious or "color" thing as it has been since 9-11 and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It needs to be about positive change for everyone, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and Buddhist (my apologies if I left out other religions!).
I wish you the best in your campaign. We need new leaders, young leaders from all different walks of life. The "old boys" club politics does not work anymore. My husband and I have first hand experience with that. He is currently stationed in Iraq right now. A formerly die hard conservative, he has seen first hand what this traditional way of political thinking has resulted in~ great suffering for the people, mismanaged money, and bitter rancor for everyone involved.
It is time for change. Good luck and may God enable you to help bridge the gap for all groups

Dear Susan, Saqib, and staff,
Just read about your "visitor" on another blog and came over here to offer my support. Interesting that instead of debating you in a normal context, he just took off. Please don't let him distract you from all the good you are doing.

Thank you for your willingness to run for public office. As a Christian in ministry, I reject the hate you encountered.

Dear Mr. Ali:
I read on Daily Kos of the recent disturbing developments regarding your campaign for the House of Delegates and one narrow minded person's possibly illegal conduct.
Since this individual seems bent on imtimidating your voice, I would like to offer you/your campaign an opportunity to be heard on my web log Crablaw's Maryland Weekly. While its readership is not large, its exposure is increasing among progressive activists in Montgomery County and is linked by RSS out to several progressive/liberal/libertarian newsfeeds nationwide.
This is not an endorsement nor an offer of any in-kind contribution, but an open offer until election day for you to use my small forum as a way to counteract the bad faith conduct of your tormentor, in the interest of the public of Maryland at large.
Very truly yours,
Bruce Godfrey

Dear Mr. Ali -
It is a shame that people cannot use their voice to spread love with the same ease it takes to speak hate.
It happens slowly, but when people band together for truth, justice and integrity, the world WILL change, and love will overcome.
Keep up the fight.

Saqib, Susan, and Sofia:
I read about your unfortunate experience recently. I wish I could say that I'm totally surprised by this. I'm actually surprised, given the times we live in, that someone hasn't made an issue of this sooner. The ignorance of a few can truly be amazing, but please don't let it get you down. We need more like you who actually stand for something and get involved.
As I read the story about your visitor I couldn't help but think of a saying I sometimes use. At least this guy had a sign so we all know where he stands. I always say, people with a tendency to do stupid things should wear signs so the rest of us know to avoid them. Obviously, I cleaned it up a bit, but you get my drift and I hope you also cracked a smile. Take care.

Wow! I'm not sure I would've had Saqib's patience with dealing with this man? I think a lesser man, like myself, would've taken the bait.
Keep on keep'n it real Saqib! You're doing great!

I'm a really sorry about him, he is a cause of shame for what he claims to represent. Some call themselves Christians but I can assure you that he is not a Christian
