To me, weaning always felt like the last chapter in pregnancy. While our babies are still dependent on us for food, shelter, and love, weaning seems like the first of many steps toward them taking care of themselves. I definitely mourned the lost relationship when it was time to wean. I can relate to how good it feels to not be tied down in that very physical way. Congratulations on making it so long!
