I was smiling reading the karaage. I remember the portion was so huge we divided into two meals to finish it! Guess what, I just had karaage with rice in a japanese restaurant here. so many japanese students doing arubaito there. the portion was huge and i couldn't finish it too. i'll bring you there when you come ok.
i can't wait to get that treat when i visit you then! 
first memories such as those always leave a deep impression, esp when it was cold, and everything was new and trying out new stuff became part of our everyday life.
