Did it have strategically-placed not-so-lacy sections of red lace so that one couldn't, you know, SEE EVERYTHING? I could be way off here, but did you end up at The Roost?? I did that once when the fun bar next door was too packed, and ended up seeing Janice from Mean Girls there. And while I wouldn't exactly call her a "celebrity" it seemed way too divey for even someone of her status.

I'm assuming you were really trying to go to the Short Stop, which is definitely a hipster faux dive bar. And impossible to find. The Echo is the same way.
