My Mac iBook was doing just that. My personal Mac dude reminded me that 1) batteries do not last forever and 2) iBook had a battery recall.

Quick stop at the website and a shiny new battery was on it's way. Underneath the label was the postage paid return label so Mac could recycle the old battery.

For $30, it's worth a shot.

Gravatar sarah morrison is way more cool

Gravatar My old (like, 7 years old) Powerbook started doing that this year. Have you tried shutting down your computer before you charge it? That worked like a charm with the Powerbook, although still not ideal if you ever want to work for more than two hours at a time.

You might also try Melrose Mac, on the corner of Melrose and Highland. They can often fix stuff like a loose power connector for a lot less than the price of a new logicboard.
