----Mami's reply----

'able' to write je la. hehehe. tp hancuss :P

u reminded me to my lecturer from India... susah betol nk paham pe dia cakap. he pronounced A as 'Yey', India as 'Yindiya', in as 'Yin'. huhuhu.

Gravatar ngeh ngeh ngeh.. mmg caranya mencampakkan diri sendiri kat tempat omputeh..

but i agree with you.. understanding UK accent is kinda tough.. kena pi British Council la kot?

----Mami's reply----

(tengoh tunggu posting p UK kot2 dapat) kahkahkahkahkah. berangan.

Gravatar the only way to improve is to speak the language constantly... alaaa but british accents mmg hard to understand pun :-p

---Mami's reply---

and yep, susah nak paham UK english nie.. kiter slalu senyum2 sipu ker, kalau xpaham depa cakap... *malunyeee*

btw, about our kids kan, kalau xmampu nak "campak" mereka ke negara omputih, rasanya kita kena praktis cakap 100% omputih kat umah laa... cam mamafiza tue... zero BM! BM xyah ajar pon diorang terel nnt...

---Mami's reply---

huh. u never hear me talking. hahahaha.

nak cakap english kat umah tu masalahnya... maknye pon tunggang tebalik. kes4x. tp kat umah dah multilanguage. melayu+kelantan+indon!

hahahahahaha.

Gravatar ya mmg kena converse in english lah kalau nak anak2 pandai english.
Teringat dulu masa kecik2 saya suka tgk cerita kartun omputih sambil baca sarikata kt bawah tu. lama2 blh faham tanpa disedari.
Tp my english isn't very good pun, part kefahaman ok lah, bt oral presentation teruk gak kot. Mm..tetiba teringat viva nnt dalam english ni..huhu..

----Mami's reply----

i dunno where to put the blame on. tp kalo kat my hometown, (zaman kitorang kecik2) mmg takde nye nak praktis english. cakap Malay standard pun orang gelak. wakakakaka.

btw i learned english thru listening to english songs. dapatla tangkap vocab sikit2. hahahahaha.

Gravatar ohhh lina, i think ur english is wayyyy better than my english!!!

tapi 'english blind' aku pun, bila solo backpacking belasah gak hehehehehehe. Nasib baik masa sangkut kat immigration UK yang 'tembak' aku indian officer:D

----Mami's reply----

ko jgnlah cakap camtu. aku rasa kalo backpacking mau aku kene belasah sal derang tak paham ape aku cakap. hahahaha.

Gravatar mami hafiy..
kalo yg mcm ni pun dh worst..
agknya ibu rayyan punya english mesti kena gelak jek dek org oversea tuh..
org Singapore pn dh susah nk paham kalo ibu rayyan ckp omputih agknya..haha
xpela, slow2 blajar..spy rayyan nnti x teruk mcm ibu dia..huhu

---Mami's reply---

Gravatar hehe.. i punya english lagi la.. ntah tahap mana tah..

anyway, i am trying to speak in english at home.. so that my hubby learns it and comfortable to use it.. (err.. i am in the process of teaching him without him realising it.. which is quite hard to do!)

---Mami's reply---

wah bagusnya! my hubby's English is waaaay better than mine. if kat rumah, he's my english checker. wakakaka. jadi low self esteem plak nk borak english ngan dia :P

dia salu ckp "if org putih baca blog you memang haram tak faham!"

Gravatar relax lyna...there's always a room for improvement. yg penting, kita xjemu berusaha, chaiyok2!

Gravatar english i pun hancuss..tapi belasah jelah. practice make perfect ait?

Gravatar i think one way to familiarize yourself with UK's english is probably by subscribing to BBC channel - watch their series, or you could watch Britain's Next Top Model then..hehehe..I used to live in Yorkshire, and believe me, their accent is much much harder to understand than London's..huhu..

---Mami's reply---

now instead of CNN i watch BBC news. hahaha.

Gravatar i wud agree with zue. u can watch british programmes for free on the net at bbc iplayer or channel 4's on demand. by getting urself familiar with their accent and choice of word you'll get the confidence to apply it urself.

the difference between british and malaysian english is the brits speak in a non-rushed manner and they enunciate each syllable to perfection.

as everyone's telling you.. your's are excellent. no worries. i studied and now working in the uk, yet i still feel like you do. what i tell myself is to push ourselves out of our comfort zone, go and approach them, speak up and hold our head high. And ofcourse, there's the magical touch of prayers; ask for His Grace for kelancaran kata2 kita. InsyaAllah.

---Mami's reply---

TQ p for your recommendation. my mentor is from UK but since 3 years ago, i'm still cannot catch up what he's trying to say,e specially in meetings. hahahaha.

Gravatar aler alom, there's no perfect english in the world my dear. as long as the message is conveyed and our counterpart understand it, then it is ok.different people different accent , by the way, we are not born as english right. And i do think, Malaysian Malays especially is very perfect speaker as when we learn other languages, we can speak more likely just like them...wiat until you heard those african english..haha..very pekat the accent...which will make evryone confused although they speak fluently...dun weri too much...we are always do at our very own best..chaiyok!!! (org english pun ckp english grammar terabur tau...)

---Mami's reply---

masalahnya tak faham apebende diorang cakap.. kalo borak2 biasa takpe jugak, ni kalo meeting, training, conference... rasa alangkah ruginya sebab satu hapah pon tak paham!!!!! message tak sampai huhuh.

so far ngan mamat africa kat ofis tu still bole catch up lagi. huhu.
