WOW! 14 days???
I must be doing something right because each of the three orders I placed (over several months) with Knitpicks were received in 4 or 5 days! And they're in California, I believe!!!

you're lucky you received your package in 14 days. i have, on occasion waited over 3 weeks to receive a package from them! it's pretty ridiculous!

Funny I should read this post just as I am about to hit the button for a 2nd order to KnitPicks. 1st one was fine, no delays and I'm anxious to try their new Options needles. Aren't they located in Washington 'tho, with the distribution centre in Ohio? I could forgive a 2 week delivery from Ohio to Ontario (Canada) but would be a little peeved if that delay was province to province!

Oh no! I've had wonderful luck with KnitPicks in the past, but my most recent order just will *not* arrive . . .

Good luck with your cardigan!

Okay, I thought it was just me overreacting, but it's not. Yes, it does take a while for their items to reach you.

I can't wait to see your finished cardigan - it looks nice in the picture.

Knit on!

I had a horribly long delivery from them the first time I ordered too...I thought they were using carrier pigeons I ordered again recently and it was here within a week....don't give up!

There seems to be an issue with customs to Canada lately from the USA. I have sent several orders to Canada and well
The first two, sent global priority , which meant 2 to 3 business days , took almost a month. I went to the Post office and asked - so explain this to me. Keep reading..
Ive since stopped using UPS, because it seems they like to reroute things to different places.
I use DHL for anything off the continent and for all my incoming stuff from suppliers. Id rather have to bear the cost of it, and get customers what they want, and as I have a customs worker in DHL, I asked them, why so long to Canada.
This is the explanation I received from both the Post Master at teh Post office and the DHL Customs official-
Simply putting "yarn" on the description on the customs form , or "knitting supplies" will slow it down and often get it opened. The shipper must be very specific - so for example- Yarn, 500gr , content bamboo fiber.
It will way lay it a lot, often customs will just open it , and often they will call, but it does weigh lay stuff
UPS is a nightmare , so I dont use them of Fed Ex.
If you are in Canada and order from a US company, and you can actually call and request them to use Overnight or Global Priority, TELL THEM TO BE VERY SPECIFIC ON THE CUSTOMS FORM
Also, specificity on the forms also makes it easier to determine if there is duty, which is another issue with US companies not checking the right box or declarations.
Ok, so thats customs 101.
BTW, I can get a package to Whitehorse YT in 4 days by US Post, so it is not impossible, its just a matter of me taking extra care.

LOL...that's how I feel about some eBayers these days. Why is it over a month and a few weeks for an item to come from another PROVINCE. The same dang COUNTRY, for gosh's sakes! Ugh!

I've never ordered from them and this is the first time I've heard something negative about their service. I may have to think twice about ordering from them now. It's a shame.

Knitpicks is located in British Columbia. Most of the time, packages crossing the border have to go thru customs and that could take awhile. I work in a shipping warehouse and let me tell you, it's hectic trying to get all the orders out for that day on time. If literally 2 or 3 people aren't at work for that day, we get behind quickly. It requires alot of hands to get people's stuff out mailed to them. So it could be that Knitpicks wasn't on top of things or the shipping carrier (UPS, Fedex) was slacking off with your package.

The only thing that ticks me off more than the slow shipping is the restocking fee ....... grrrrr

Know Etan (went to school together) and yes, he is taken and has a little boy. But I surely do remember that crush. You know, he has a book of poetry out? Pretty good stuff.
I only ordered from knitpicks when they put the Denise circular needle set on sale for 50% off.

Ugh, 14 days? That's ridiculous. A month ago, I ordered some cashmere off eBay - they sent me the wrong color, and I STILL have not received the right stuff. (But on the positive side, I think I get to keep the wrong color for free!) To make matters even worse, this was for a rush project. Bummer.

I have never really liked KnitPicks but that is because of their yarns. I don't like their yarns. But 14 days for a package to arrive is just aweful. I would return it tooo.

I think their shipping has gone downhill, and I guess it's because they have more yarn and the Options needles now. Naturally, I would suggest: hire more people to pick, pack and ship!

I blame Knitpicks because they need to offer better shipping options. US First class is $4.05 on average and arrives in 2-3 days. I don't know why I have to pay $17 to get 2-3 day shipping.

That happened to me with Knitpicks yarn recently. I was diligent about tracking it though, and watched as it slowly made its way to my town, arrived at the sorting center, and then - it left! It went to Urbana, Illinois, for reasons I still can't fathom.

I wouldn't blame the Knitpicks people so much as the shipping service (UPS I think?) - they're very nice on the phone, and will send out a replacement package if it's been longer than 14 days.

Knitpicks shipping has always bugged me. If not for that, they would be an amazing company. I do love their circs, though.

Girl, we really do need to talk more. I've been trying to get up on Eaton for sometime now. We just have to find a poetry slam...he's always there.

Maybe they mailed it from Canada. I always have to wait at least two weeks for anything to get here. I'm not even that far North.

My only guess is that they started getting a lot more orders after releasing the knitpicks options needles. The only time I had an order take that long is when I ordered the size 1 and 2 circs from them. It could be that they are having trouble keeping up with demand? What does the date stamp on the package say?

I'm glad you posted that about Knitpicks- I'm still waiting for something I ordered on the 6th, and was wondering if it was lost. It's probably on the same mule.

That's weird. i live in Alaska, and my past two orders have taken 3 days to show up.

I think my parcel is on that same ride. My friend sent a parcel from California USA to me 5 weeks ago, and I still have not got it. Isnt it annoying when that happens, especially when you want whats in the parcel.

When you say things like "mules back" I know if we knew each other personally we would be friends. What's up with Knitpicks? I have never had an orde take that long.
