Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you. I admit to being a bit nervous for you when you moved to New York, but you did it.
Do look into crochet. I used to crochet all kings of things in the 70's (including a mohair skirt) and it is a beautiful art form.
When I was teaching, I used to spend the first two weeks of summer vacation decompressing by reading and standing in my garden.
