Gravatar A wonderful post for your mom. Many times, in my so-called adulthood, have I re-examined the minutiae of my relationship with my own mother. It's not quite where your level of understanding seems to be, but I'm trying.

Hope you had a great mother's day.

Gravatar Great mother's day present. Its hard to think about your mom being your own age and what she had to do to get through life.
Plus I think all that nitpicking is okay...its our Mother after all...haha

Gravatar I love this post. Thank you for writing it, it encapsulates so much of my relationship with my mom and I know I couldn't have said it better.

Gravatar Ok, you made me cry.
This was so sweet. I hope your mom reads your blog.

Gravatar We often forget what other generations have gone through because we immediately assume that their life experience was the same as ours. In fact, their environment (country, era, society, politics) shaped them and made them who they were and forced them to make decisions that were hard but had to be made. They say hingsight has 20/20 vision, but I disagree...we judge people when we have no idea what it was like to be them in their time and place. Props to you for recognizing this and appreciating your mom for the great woman she is...think about it...you're great, your sis is great, and she raised you both so she must have done her job real well! Happy belated Mom's day Mrs. D!

Gravatar Wow. This is beautiful! I'm just reading it now and going to forward to all of my friends. You are amazing!!

Gravatar Wow. I was an asshole to my (crazy-making) mother this weekend, and havebeen thinking I should apologize, but this? Now THIS is an apology!
