Wife Rachel and I standing at Route 128 Exit ramp in Lexington, Massachusetts, saw Aurora Borealis (northern lights) at approx. 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2004, in the direction of Bedford, Massachusetts. We were surprised to see them at all al, nonetheless this far south. The flare-up lasted 4 minutes, was primarily green, and included a spear of yellow, orange, and purple. Can Chet or anyone confirm this? This was definitely not a reflection of the lights of Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB) in Bedford, Mass. |
