Gravatar Not to mention the fact that Mendoza was just ranked the #3 business school in the country.

Gravatar Right Josh... shame on us for "funnelling" our players into the #3 business school in the country at a slightly higher rate than the general student body. FOR SHAME!

Gravatar The soft bigotry of low expectations: some of our football players are so stupid that we have to ease their academic passage (rationalize: in order to maintain a competitive advantage). And, how elite it must make them feel to be one student in a student body of 41,000.

I've asked it before: how many times do you think Brian ws denied admission to ND.

Gravatar I agree, Brian's final logic there is outstandingly absurd. I agree with him that the college football world is often hypocritical, but taking Michigan and Brian's approach just furthers that hypocrisy.

Gravatar "take star athletes whose uninspiring high school GPAs are almost entirely fraudulent already, give them a full time job, and then get those star athletes to graduate without hijinks"

Ok...while our football players have what's considered a respectable average GPA...it normally comes down to 3.0...maybe 3.1. So it's not like they're kicking ass and taking names with their grades. They graduate, though, and there's something to be said for that.
