You are absolutely right. We scheduled two "cupcakes" to start the season, FIU and Notre Dame. After tomorrow we will be 2-0, and we still will have not played anybody. Payback is a you know what.

Walt, if you define "cupcakes" as "teams that took Penn State behind the woodshed last year and beat them like red-headed step-children" then yes, you scheduled two cupcakes to start the season.
You may very well have bragging rights come tomorrow night, but until then, you're still the team that couldn't even stop our backups from scoring at will in garbage time. We played all three service academies last year, and two of them gave us a better game than PSU, so save the trash talking for after the game pal.
I still don't understand why everyone is knocking our D. We handed GT the ball on a silver platter IN OUR TERRITORY for their first 3 possessions and they walked away with 2 FGs. Anything after halfway through the second quarter you cannot blame on our D because our offense made sure the D stayed out on the field for the entire friggin first half. I don't care who you are; you can't do that and expect anything spectacular (or even good) from your D after that point.
Our defense did not play poorly!!! They were hung out to dry.
So if our offense can sustain drives for more than 3 plays on Saturday, don't attribute the miraculous turnaround on D to the defense "improving." They played just as well against GT; it's just hard to perform when your offense has you suckin' wind before halftime.
I'm getting my kid out of town before he gets killed.

Jim, you're welcome to not read the website if you don't like what we post. Personally, I don't like reading what I believe to be bullshit, but maybe that's just me.
Mike - Sorry for that unfortunate choice of words. I just think that if your team is # last in so many categories in Div. 1-A football (there are 118 teams ahead of us in offense stats), calling anyone who is ranked in the top 20 overrated is.....silly.
Overrating is when you put that putrid (crippled?) offense on the field, show little or no improvement, and the coach won't even use the word "rebuiding" - especially when you're heading (hindsight) for your fouth straight embarrassing 20+ point loss. BTW, anyone notice the "E" word starting to creep into the coaches' discourse?
All things considered, I'd rather be 2-0 and overrated - like Penn State.
