Can we have an asshat "for all eternity" award. I'd like to nominate BC for that.

I think the reason that no one really sticks out for 'Asshat of the Week' this week is because none of the writers had anything to talk about. By loss #4, everyone and their mom was writing about how shiatty Notre Dame Football is. Now that they've won a game, there's nothing left to say. At the end of the year and during the off season they'll be able to look back and say "Notre Dame, who only had 5 wins last year" (or however many they win) and talk trash again... but they don't really have anything to say until then.
BC is the Asshat for all eternity like ND girl said, I think "Sports Media" should have been the asshat for this week. If you're going to report ND for 5 straight weeks, why stop suddenly for the 6th?

Nevermind, I guess this week the media is discussing how Charlie Weis' killing of the football team is also killing South Bend's economy.

The Forde Yard Dash segment in ESPN always takes a jab at ND and simulaniously pumps up Willingham. For the first coupla weeks it was funny, now on the 6th straight week of the same jokes, it's just getting pathetic. If you are in doubt next week, read his weekly segments. I garauntee you asshattery.

"Brenan attributes about 30 percent of buyers' hesitation to Notre Dame's record, and the other 70 percent to economic factors such as the subprime mortgage industry."
Yeah, the fact that South Bend is a dying economy has NOTHING to do with the fact that people aren't buying condos in lovely SB. It all has to do with Notre Dame's lackluster results.

From this weeks' Forde Yard Dash: "And freshly removed from the winless list is Notre Dame, which beat UCLA 20-6 behind the Herculean efforts of linebacker Maurice Crum (6), who intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles, returning one for the clinching touchdown. Don't tell anyone, but Crum was recruited by the scourge of humanity, Ty Willingham (7)."
That's really awesome how he ruins anything good he said about Crum by turning it into a Willingham vs Weis situation. Again.
What way does Forde want to spin this? Charlie is losing with his players, losing with Willingham's or winning with Willingham's?
Maybe he should have focussed on how Crum is thriving in the new defense... but maybe that makes too much sense. It sucks that a large part of the only national attention that Notre Dame received this week was a back-handed compliment towards Crum.

Carufel's pulling a Stewart and going home to think about things.
I'm sorry. What the fuck is up with these kids that they feel the need to go to the forest of solitude in the middle of the season to think things over?! Talk things out at school. Finish the damned season and if you're still not happy, transfer. I'm getting sick of these kids acting like primadonnas.

"but Crum was recruited by the scourge of humanity, Ty Willingham"
And fortunately for Maurice, he got a new coach that understands player development among other football related issues.
Come on guys, time to recognize ESPN for the a-holes and jock-sniffers that that whole sports-media-empire has become. I can't even hardly stand to flip it over to that channel anymore. And what they've done to my beloved Monday Night Football is a national tragedy.
