Your Turn

I was intially hacked off because THESE are people who are working to get candidates elected, who are supposed to be negotiating international trade agreements, but willing trample on a licensing agreement used by a blogger. There's nothing worse then someone saying "feel free to use this, only make sure you attribute it to me" and not being attributed. If this in a knowledge ecomony, we hae to protect our currency.

Amen.

Scott since obviously they knew who took the photo they should have asked your permission and given you at least credit for the photo. This shows in my opinion unethical behavior so therefore negates their opinions and any other information they present to the public.as I have trouble listening to people whose behavior is less than ethical.

However it does happen in the mainstream media. In my piece "Who is watching the Watcher." a photo of Anne Molnar being hugged by Joe Kozuira (sp) appeared in the paper when she won her council at large seat.(Nothing untoward with that they have been friends for years both Democrats) However a few weeks later THAT SAME photo was under the headline that was berating good old boy politics in Lorain.THAT photo had NOTHING to do with the story but was used out of context and certainly led the reader to believe there was something amiss..Ethics??? yet we are asked to base our votes and stances upon half truths and lack of ethics. Loraine

One more thing on your Bloggers list someone asked if you had permission to reprint the "who left this bag image from the London trains "... YES it was MY article and I had permission from the Metropolitian Police in England to do so! and the work in the lower left hand corner states it is from the Metropolitican Police maybe you could mention that as I don't want to join any more "lists" Just so they know...Loraine

Thanks Loraine! I'll see that that gets passed on.

Hey guess what?

I just got a robo-call from BETTY SUTTON asking for my support.

I told her "no problem".

I tried asking her a few key questions about the whole Emily's List thang, but she just went on and on, like she wasn't even listening to me.

I just got the robo call too!!! and those damned calls annoy the hell out of me.... I hung up because I am a registered Independent!!can't vote for the Democrats or the Republicans.... Loraine

Also Scott I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a "guest blogger" and to assure you that I have had monthly columns for quite a few years appearing both in the US nationally, Australia and the UK and I always treat whatever I write to the same standard and criteria that I would if it were to appear in the print media..such as copy right.factual references and hard copy back up.also keeping sources protected if need be. Much easier for me that way Loraine

My pleasure Loraine - you're a pro which makes my job easier, and makes me look better; like I actually know what I'm doing!

Yay! I made your blog! And these stolen Capri photos are ridiculous. I wonder how often this sort of thing happens and no one notices!Behind you 100 percent!

I hope Sutton comes out on the short end of the stick on Tuesday. She gave a standard "tax-and-spend" response to an inquiry on her views on the federal budget (non-committal to anything); she lives outside the district in a neighborhood that hardly resembles the blue collar communities that characterize the most populous chunks of the 13th District; though criticism of Bush is a cornerstone of her campaign rhetoric, electing her won't change who the president is (that will happen in 2008, and as far as I know, Sutton is not running for president), thus it's a moot point; she already exhibits an ivory-tower "inside the Beltway" tenor in her campaign message even though she hasn't been elected yet (perhaps because of her lack of ties to the 13th District to keep her grounded); she smacks of hypocrisy as she needles Sawyer for his travels, but excuses herself and Sherrod Brown for engaging in the same activity; and this episode of lifting your photography without giving credit where credit is due tells me that the voters of the 13th are her doormat instead of her potential employer.

Loraine,

You've probably heard this before, and I apolgize for the solicitation, but would you consider asking for a democratic ballot at your polling place this Tuesday? Given Ohio's loose primary laws, you'd probably be branded "D" on any walk-lists or voter ID sheets. BUT it would give you a great opportunity to support Subodh Chandra, a Democrat who is NOT an ODP candidate. You could leave everyother box blank, and I think you'd still be making a great contribution towards the election in November.

Thanks,

Joe

Loraine,

That is what I had to do. Independant at heart but I'll play the game in order to participate in making change.

Btw Hats off to your son for getting the write up in the paper. Good things do come out of Lorain, just not often enough.

Well I can't do that , I would feel that I was somehow not exactly cheating but bending the intent of rules to suit( Then how could I chastize others for bending the rules or using them to an advantage...??? just can't sorry....However what I have done is tell the Democrats in my family to read the Chandra info on MTB and they have come away impressed. Loraine

Michelle thanks for the mention of Chris. It has been a long road.....now to find a job...interestingly enough I signed him for a position in the UK I get ( for him of course) so many offers a day...with very lucrative salaries ( my publisher said it is crazy what they are having to pay for graphic designers/art direction) not the case in Ohio it seems.... how do I convince him to go wayyyyyy east and buy his old mum a little cottage by the sea where I can become Miss Marple when his heart is in the Midwest... ( smile) Loraine
