hmm, I wonder if Scott knows the difference between an authorized disclosure and a leak?

Actually, it's nice to see a president willing to take on controversial issues and become a leader instead of handling only safe issues.....

I saw a headline yesterday saying that this whole leak affair "threatened Bush's credibility." I don't think that's possible. For something to be threatened it has to exist in the first place. The only people who would claim that Bush still has (or ever had) credibility to threaten are the right-wing whackjobs like James and Gern. It's scary to see how easily large numbers of Americans are led by propoganda that would have made Goebbels proud. The extreme right--they're true believers to begin with, but to think that an additional 20% (aside from the lunatic base) of the population voted for Bush in 2004 is hard to understand. Who are they and didn't they pay any attention to anything that was happening?

I have continually stated and will continue to state that I am not a Bush supporter. I do, however, believe in facts, and that is what I was correcting in my comments - and I noticed Schwarzmann made the same mistake. If Scott had printed that Clinton was responsible for killing over 40,000,000 people, I would do the same thing - point out the facts. As Schwarzmann mentioned, you have to be careful of propaganda - like the word "leak" in this case. It appears that Schwarzmann is the one succumbing to propaganda here.

Leak is the correct term because the information was not declassified then released. It was LEAKED and retroactively declassified. There's a big difference here.

Leak is what Scooter did, Bush authorized disclosure, and that is the difference.
Worst nightmare, as usual, has nothing to contribute. Facts are difficult for him to deal with.

schwarzmann is wrong. the classified information was declassified when bush authorized it's disclosure. After all, what would declassify mean if it didn't mean authorize disclosure?
