Gravatar ahhhh...the rose coloured glasses of a Raptors devotee after a lopsided win. I love you.

Off the top, Vince used Juan like his bitch. Each time Juan guarded him, Vince hit his shot. I am still unsure of Dixon's strength, if he even has one. I was surprised to see him hit the floor so early last night, especially considering the games start.

I'm glad to see you excited at such a high FT percentage. Of course, they have yet to even really get to the line consistently. This has to change. The number of times you can steal a game from making trips to the free throw line, especially as a defensively challenged team, is pretty high.

I also take exception with your view of the Raptors inside shot. It is non-existent. Even in a drubbing like last night, we got outscored in the paint. That is pathetic.

Rebounding continues to be an issue. We barely won that battle last night, which is kind of depressing when you look at the Nets FG%. 11 boards in 55 minutes of play by a 7-footer is not an accomplishment, it's bordering on failure.

Stuff like this is what will win regular games. Throw last night out with the wash as it was out of the ordinary.

Scott.

Gravatar Ahhh, the black tinted lenses of an apocalyptic devotee...love coming back at you Scott.

I guess there's a reason I didn't mention Dixon's defense of Carter. I think I referenced Parker and Delfino.

I don't disagree about the FT numbers. But the Raps did get more than the Nets. And I thought they did get stiffed several times (I know, I know, but like you said, I'm a devotee).

As for inside shots, when you can get 40 points from outside the arc, you don't need as many inside. I thought Raps did a good job inside. They DID go to the line on 8 PFs, all but one for attempted baskets inside the paint. And Bargs, Calderon, Rasho, Kapono, Bosh, Ford and Parker scored from inside, as I recall.

The Raps shot 50%, so to get 52 points from jumnpers, they had to take 52 shots, and they collected 6 of the rebounds from the 26 shots they missed. But the Nets were much better at following their own shots and I won't argue that the Raps need improvement here. Having said that, Bargs performance so far this season averages out to 26 pts and 7 rebounds per 35 minutes. That isn't bad for someone who, at the direction of the coach, spends the majority of his offensive time out at the arc.

And while I agree the margin in last nights game is out of the ordinary, I would argue with you about how successful the Raps will be with that style of basketball. They need to box out, just a little better, and take it inside, just a little more. And I see Bargs, in particular, boxing out more, and driving. Let's pick this up in another 30 games.
