I love that you call performing femme hedonistic. I think you're right. Femme revalues beauty and pleasure in a world that largely devalues these things.

Unchecked hedonism even! I appreciate this post so much I shared it with a friend of mine because it precisely said what I had fumbled over during dinner the night before. Femmes are kinda outlaws because we are 1. Outliers in more than one community 2. refuse to compromise (thus the hedonism, to a degree) 3. Come to it as a chosen self-representation (society be damned!). Thank you SL, thank you!
