I think men go to strip clubs to enjoy the illusion that the woman lap dancing for you really *does* find you fascinating and sexy, and not a repugnant smelly boring shitheel. I could never enjoy myself, because I found it impossible to willingly suspend disbelief, and the illusion never materialized for me.
